How We Teach Dance

When Arthur Murray opened his first studio in 1912, he was unknown. Within years, however, his name was known in households across the globe – simply because he could teach ANYONE how to dance. He created the system that we still use today.

• Private Lessons:
  Each private lesson you take is special in several ways. Firstly, you can schedule your lesson for any time that is convenient for you. Secondly, our nationally certified, full-time instructors carefully plan each lesson in your custom-designed program. You’ll have more fun and learn faster and easier on your private lessons than you could ever learn by videos, Internet or public group classes! This is the hallmark of Arthur Murray’s. We value your TIME by making the most of it.
• Group Classes:
  These fun, energetic classes are designed to teach you patterns and help you dance on your own balance.Group classes cover every dance imaginable and take place every night of the work week, and Saturday afternoons, too. We are experts in developing dancers, so we’ll always put you in the classes that fit you best – not too easy, not too hard! Unlike purchasing public group classes a la carte, your classes at Arthur Murray’s are part of your custom-designed program.
• Practice Parties:
  Another advantage of learning at Arthur Murray’s is the practice parties. Instead of trying your new dancing in public for the first time, test-drive your dancing in the studio. In this 40 minute session, students of all levels dance together. You’ll practice everything you’ve been learning while your trained instructors are there to help. Unlike many public practice parties, we don’t serve alcohol or turn the studio into a public nightclub. Our focus remains on you, your progress, and your FUN! Very soon, you’ll be brimming with confidence and ready to take your dancing out into the real world – whether that means a nightclub, cruise, wedding or even your kitchen!
